Spinning a Sweater

If you follow me on Instagram you will have seen me posting up pictures of gorgeously rainbow coloured fluff recently. This is  due to my desire to spin enough of this newly acquired Manos Del Uruguay roving into yarn, so I can make a deliciously soft rainbow sweater in the depths of winter :)

I have to admit though, the sweater idea was mostly used as justification for buying a lot of gorgeous sale roving on Ebay. There were too many colourways to resist and I’m afraid it was a case of my yarn goggles being bigger than my actual ability to finish things! I can’t wait to see how it will spin up because I can’t resist blues and purples together. There’s also some hot pink, lavender and tinges of golden yellow in there. The colourway I’m currently working with is Wildflower.

I finished the first single yesterday and I’m delighted! Even though it’s tempting to spin like a maniac to see what it’s going to look like, I want to try to relax and enjoy the process, especially since it’s a more long term project than the Outlander-inspired sock pattern I’m working on.

Are you a spinner? What are your favourite colours to work with?

Happy Knitting! (and Spinning!)
