With knitting, your beautiful project-to-be will usually begin with a single humble slipknot, which forms the base of your cast on. Here’s how to make it!
Step 1
Leaving a little tail at one end (or a long tail if you’re doing a long tail cast on) make a loop as shown. Push a bit of the yarn through the loop from back to front.
Step 2
Tighten up the loop.
Step 3
Pop it on your needle! You’re now ready to cast on.
